When designing an extraction booth or a C1D1 / C1D2 extraction room, it is extremely important to consider an explosion proof E-Stop that is interlocked with your other extraction booth parts such as ventilation and alarm systems. To comply with NFPA for cannabis extraction, an extraction booth must have an explosion proof E-stop located arm height near the exit door of the room. This E-stop when hit will increase the extraction room fans to their purge speeds, in addition to turning on the alarm and horns to alert people in and out of the room that there is an emergency condition inside your extraction booth. These interlocks can be created by purchasing our UL listed extraction booth control panel and using our explosion proof extraction booth fans and alarms / horns.
Our Class 1 Division 1 E-stop can be used in both hydrocarbon extraction rooms and ethanol extraction rooms and are compliant to both UL standards for C1D1 and C1D2. Even when not required by NFPA, it is extremely important to have a purge system in place for an extraction room that is connected to this style E-stop so that an extraction technician can evacuate the room safely while taking care of the immediate safety hazards in front of them.
